A Disastrous Lack of Clarity

I have a few words that I would like to share with our GOP Leadership in Washington, “You Suck!”  You have failed at the simple process of explaining to the people anything about what you are doing in the debt limit debate.

“Clarity is the preoccupation of the effective leader. If you do nothing else as a leader, be clear.” – Marcus Buckingham”

Where did the American people get the idea that the GOP opposed raising the debt limit. Not raising the limit was never an option to begin with. The plan was to get cuts to the imaginary budget in return for signing off on more borrowing until the budget could go into effect in October. Have you explained to the people that this whole mess is the result of not having an actual budget?

Are we seeing the two year wonders running wild? People are screaming for the government to stop spending. Let me tell you the bad news; they can’t. They can stop NEW spending but expenditures that are already in place have to be paid until they are removed from the books. I mean, what do these people want to happen? Do they not realize that the term “Stop spending” does not mean to stop paying your bills? All of you people yelling “Don’t cave, don’t cave” sound like little children yapping in the sand box.

Look at it this way, if you were to decide to get your own finances in order, would you start by not paying your mortgage? How about your car payment or your kid’s college tuition?

Saw Senators Dick Durbin and Jim DeMint on Meet The Press. Now Durbin was spinning the standard lib propaganda but if you look at DeMint, he was avoiding questions and twisting in the wind. He says that we have the money to service our interest obligations but not to pay all of our bills yet  he claims that the US would not be in default. Jim, I hate to tell you buddy but when you don’t have the money to pay ALL of your bills, you are in default.

On April 15, 2011 the House voted and passed the so called Ryan budget for fiscal year 2012. The problem is that it has been somewhere around two and a half years since the Senate has bothered to pass a budget. At the time that the budget was passed, every Republican should have went on the attack shouting BUDGET, BUDGET, and BUDGET. What happened instead is that they have been pulled into this debt limit game. If a budget was passed with a rational reduction in spending for the up coming year, the whole debt limit war would be meaningless.

Our freshmen in the 112th Congress along with the other incumbent weasels were sworn in to office on Jan. 4th. Here, only 7 months latter they are all in full campaign mode and pandering to the vote. They are letting their mouths over load our asses because we, the American people are the ones who will pay.
